OBSCURA Festival of Photography is one of the leading photography festivals in the Asia-Pacific. Established in 2013, the festival takes place annually at the UNESCO World Heritage City of George Town, Malaysia. A series of exhibitions, talks, workshops, portfolio reviews and projection nights are held over the 14 day festival period which annually attracts 20,000 visitations from over 25 countries. Alongside special programs designed for professionals and students, a large portion of the festival’s programming is free to the public. The festival plays an integral part in fostering the growth of the photographic arts, multi-lateral partnerships and international relations for the region.
